How do I know which kind of oven hire I need to choose?

Finding the right kitchen equipment for a commercial or temporary setting on a budget can be very difficult. One of the chief decisions to get right is oven hire; get that wrong and it can be disastrous.

At Expo Hire Bristol and Avon we offer a choice of LPG and electric ovens for hire; the right one to order depends on the situation it is being hired into. Electric ovens for hire are the right choice for indoor kitchen areas where they can be used to bake, roast and grill food with ease. However, because electric ovens need huge amounts of power they cannot be used outdoors. The wattage required by electric ovens to run is far too much for temporary power supplies such as generators and extension leads and these will trip out easily while trying to use them in this way. The right choice for outdoor kitchens are LPG ovens like our six burner oven as they use LPG bottles to fuel the oven’s powerful burners. However, LPG ovens are not designed to be used indoors due to the potential lack of ventilation of exhaust fumes.

Having high quality stock has always been something that we pride ourselves upon and because of this we frequently replace our ovens with new ones. This is particularly important with ovens which are often the main workhorse of a kitchen and allows our customers to order from us with peace of mind.

What kind of fridge hire is there?

Whether it’s a big outdoor festival or a busy commercial space, if cold food and drinks are being served fridge space is a necessity. We work with various events and occasions along with commercial and pop up kitchens throughout Bristol, Avon and Somerset to help with fridge hire needs. Our expert drivers deliver fridges for hire to venues throughout the South West, helping to make sure that event organisers have all the fridge space they need.

We offer a wide variety of fridges for hire at Expo Hire Bristol and Avon. Our upright display fridges are one of our most frequently hired products we have on offer, being hired by people as diverse as retailers, exhibitors and event organisers. We also stock double door bottle coolers which are perfect for spaces such as bars as an under-counter fridge. For those customers who need more specialist stock we also have wine fridges, countertop fridges and chilled drink dispensers in stock.

We know that commercial kitchens need space to not only store and chill food but also for food preparation. To help meet this demand, we offer counter fridges with integrated workspaces which meet this need and which can be wheeled quickly into position with ease. At the other end of the spectrum, our extra large double door fridges are just what is needed for kitchens with large storage requirements.

Is there commercial barbecue hire available?

There isn’t much better than the smell of food cooking outside at a big outdoor event or occasion. While a smaller party can easily make do with a standard bbq, we know that our commercial customers are going to need commercial barbecue hire.

The barbecues for hire we have available have been selected with large outdoor functions in mind and can happily feed hundreds of guests. The Cinders barbecue is an industry standard barbecue which features two separate cooking areas, allowing for meat eating and vegetarian menus to be served at the same time without fear of cross-contamination. We also stock gas bottles and wrenches so customers can be sure they have everything they need to get going quickly.

Do you need to order gas?

All of our LPG equipment is supplied without gas bottles. Please order separately if you need them

  • 13kg LPG Bottles are suitable for patio heaters
  • 19kg LPG Bottles are suitable for all other LPG equipment we stock
  • 30mm wrench required to attach bottles to equipment - can also be hired separately
  • If unsure about connecting bottles to equipment utilise a Gas Safe Engineer

What do I need to know about catering equipment hire?

We stock and deliver a wide range of electrical products, and live by the moral that we will only hire out items that are of good quality and in good condition. This is why at Expo Hire Bristol and Avon we clean, inspect and PAT test all electricals prior to delivery, and can even provide evidence of this if required. All of our electrical products are fitted with a 3 pin UK plug, meaning they are widely compatible throughout all major venues. Please Note: We advise that you check the limitations of your power supply prior to use, to ensure it is not overloaded.

All of our equipment is supplied complete with a hose and regulator, meaning they can easily be connected to a standard LPG gas bottle via the bayonet fitting.

We pride ourselves on safety at Expo Hire Bristol and Avon. That's why all of our gas equipment is regularly checked and tested by a Gas Safe engineer.

Evidence of this can be provided (on request) upon confirmation of your order. Please Note: Our delivery team cannot connect or set up equipment for you. If you are not comfortable doing this, we advise that you consult a Gas Safe engineer.

Do I need to clean catering equipment hire before it is returned?

Are you worried about cleaning your catering equipment hire after your occasion or event? If time is a factor or you know you’ve got too much else to worry about while packing up, then our "send it back dirty" service is what you need.

We know that catering equipment can be hard to clean after a hire period of full usage – especially things like ovens and barbecues. Rather than breaking out the scourer, for 25% of the hire price you can leave it all to us. Just wipe off any food debris or liquid and we'll do the rest once it has been returned. To take advantage of this service simply select in the checkout.

How does delivery of catering equipment hire work?

It’s easier than ever to find out the delivery and collection costs to and from your venue for event hire.
